2016-04-27-12-57-37--1023969340On the 27th of April 1994 South Africans celebrated their first non-racial democratic elections and the South African government had this day made as Freedom day.
We ask ourselves are we really free? What does freedom mean to you? Yes we celebrate a day as South Africans but are we really free express ourselves as we are meant to? Yes we are, because we live in a democratic country that has brought different nationalities together and made people express themselves the way they want to.
Different ways people express themselves
• Culturally, South Africans have embraced different culture. Schools and workplaces have learnt to embrace people’s different cultures.
• Religiously, we have bill of rights and different constitutions that allow to practice our religious believes.
• Spiritually, you allowed to believe in any other higher power you want to.
• Racially, there’s is no racial discrimination that we allow.
Other ways we are free is also through:
• Fashion
• Trends
• Social Media Pages that we have
• Business that we can create
• Diversity that we bring to the workplace
• In our social groups that we are in.
These are different things that we are free with, but children that were born from 1994 were called born frees because they can experience a South Africa without any racial discrimination or actually feeling superior to any person because of who they are.

South Africa is a free country, but individually you should be free to express yourself the way you want to live the way you want to, because that way you succeed with being the best at being you. Live life according to the way you think makes you happy and that way you become totally free, not only as a South African, but as an individual that is trying to make their dreams and goals a reality.
Freedom is from within, being yourself is freedom. To me freedom is what makes me happy and in it making me happy it affects others to also make a change in their lives and other people’s lives.
