BNL2015 : Weekend 6 Preview

The halfway mark of BNL2015 was marked by 2 great games on Friday 31 July. Guests from the NBA and fans of the game were treated to some Mzansi flavour with games between the Soweto Panthers vs North West Eagles as well as Egoli Magic vs Tshwane Suns.

We are into Weekend 6 and can certainly say that teams are better-oiled and fans are being treated to some great basketball, the next few weeks will see games getting tighter with teams looking to secure spots in the top 4 of the log. There are some good matchups on the cards, which includes 4 games on Saturday. The KwaZulu Marlins, Mpumalanga Rhinos, Limpopo Pride, Eastern Cape Windbreakers and Tshwane Suns all have double-fixtures in what will be another bumper to bumper weekend.

With all the interesting games lined-up, there is little doubt that the game all fans have been looking forward to seeing is the repeat of last year’s Final between the Tshwane Suns and Duzi Royals. The biggest headliner for this game will definitely be the role of former Royals players Larry Jackson jnr, who has been playing well for the Suns this season. The Suns’ defensive prowess was once again key in their victory against the Egoli Magic with Tich Mabiza leading from the front in the absence of Captain Neo Mothiba. Coaches Michel Katalay and George Makena both have great personnel who have enough skills and experience to win this matchup which makes game execution that much imperative. The Royals will hope to see continued great form from the likes of Tsakani Ngobeni, Kagiso Ngoetjana, Lindo Sibankulu and Fumani Marhanele. Just like in last year’s finals, Mothiba’s return is going to be a big plus for the Suns’ offense as he will combine well with on form Tshepo Matsie, Dumisani Moyo and Jackson jnr. Hang on to your hats, this will definitely be off the charts.
